Band knife 2 out of service until guard repaired
Band knife 2 in the Brunswick cutting room is tagged out because its blade guard does not lower fully to lay height. Do not remove the tag or use the machine. All band knife work goes to knife 1 until the contractor has repaired and tested the guard. Report any other guarding concern to your department lead immediately.

Second eyewash station for the dye studio
A second plumbed eyewash station will be installed in the Preston print and dye studio on 16 September beside the weighing booth. The studio will be closed from 7:00 am to 11:00 am that day. The monthly eyewash and spill kit check will move to the first Tuesday of the month from October so that both stations are checked together.

Sealed sample archive tidy-up
The sample archive at Brunswick is being re-shelved by client and tag number. Every sealed sample must carry its tag and match the sealed sample number in the Tech Pack Register. If you find a sample without a tag or a tag without a register entry, hand it to the Pattern Room Supervisor. Superseded samples will be boxed and stored for two years.

Afternoon overtime crew for October
Production will run an afternoon crew from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm on the sewing floor from 5 October to 30 October to meet the blazer and uniform deliveries. Overtime is voluntary and paid at award rates. Machinists and pressers who want to join the roster must tell the Production Manager by 25 September. Supervision and first aid cover will be rostered for every shift.

Emergency evacuation drills in October
Evacuation drills will be held at Brunswick on 14 October and at Preston on 21 October. The Preston drill includes a chemical spill response exercise at the adhesive bench. Wardens will meet on 12 October to walk the assembly points. Visitors and students on placement must be escorted to the assembly point by their host.
