The situation

What has happened

Work order WO-26-0424 for 900 Pinnacle Rail Services high visibility work shirts has been released. The marker is printed, the orange and navy poplin has been received and shade banded, but the certified reflective tape is still on order, so the Production Manager has decided to cut now and sew when the tape arrives. The cutting room has one band knife tagged out of service, which means all small parts must be cut on knife 1. The Production Manager wants the lay spread, the marker checked, the pieces cut and bundled, and the records complete by Thursday so the bundles are ready for the sewing floor.

Your brief. Lay up, mark, cut, bundle and record the high visibility shirt order according to the Lay-up, Marking and Cutting Procedure, working safely with the equipment available, and hand over a complete cut record, bundle tickets and a cut inspection entry.

What to look for

Evidence guide

Look for the student checking the tech pack version and shade bands before spreading, correct ply count and lay height for poplin, a marker piece count that matches the marker report, and a cutting sequence that keeps the mesh glove and guard in use. Bundle tickets must carry every field in the procedure. The Quality Inspection Log entry and work order status change must be complete and consistent with each other.

The student's evidence summary lists every record they created or changed in the systems named above, their notes and the tasks they ticked. Verify it against the deliverables and your own assessment tool.
