The situation

What has happened

Two supply problems have arrived at once. The bottle green blazer cloth for the St Aidan's College order is down to 96 metres with 320 blazers still to cut, and the usual mill has a six-week lead time. The charcoal canvas for the Merriwa Holdings aprons failed receiving inspection because one roll is outside the shade band, and the work order is on hold. The General Manager wants a costed recommendation by Friday that keeps both deliveries on time, uses only suppliers with a current ethical sourcing declaration, and does not compromise the tech pack specifications.

Your brief. Calculate the fabric required for both orders, obtain and compare quotes from approved suppliers, verify ethical sourcing declarations, update stock and requisition records, and present a costed recommendation to the General Manager with lead times and risks.

Evidence guide

The requirement calculation must start from tech pack consumption and the remaining work order quantity, with allowances shown. Check that the student confirms declaration status before recommending a supplier and excludes any supplier without one. Stock records must reflect the quarantine and the orders raised. The recommendation must weigh cost against lead time and specification match, not price alone.

The student's evidence summary lists every record they created or changed in the systems named above, their notes and the tasks they ticked. Verify it against the deliverables and your own assessment tool.
